Column Generation for Bi-Objective Vehicle Routing Problems with a Min-Max Objective

چکیده
Column generation has been very useful in solving single objective vehicle routing problems (VRPs). Its role in a branch-and-price algorithm is to compute a lower bound which is then used in a branch-and-bound framework to guide the search for integer solutions. In spite of the success of the method, only a few papers treat its application to multi-objective problems and this paper seeks to contribute in this respect. We study how good lower bounds for bi-objective VRPs in which one objective is a min-max function can be computed by column generation. A way to model these problems as well as a strategy to effectively search for columns are presented. We apply the ideas to two VRPs and our results show that strong lower bounds for this class of problems can be obtained in “reasonable” times if columns are intelligently managed. Moreover, the quality of the bounds obtained from the proposed model are significantly better than those obtained from the corresponding “standard” approach. 1998 ACM Subject Classification G.1.6 Integer Programming, G.2.3 Applications

Solving a Bi-Objective Multi-Product Vehicle Routing Problem with Heterogeneous Fleets under an Uncertainty Condition
This paper presents a novel bi-objective multi-product capacitated vehicle routing problem with uncertainty in demand of retailers and volume of products (UCVRP) and heterogeneous vehicle fleets. The first of two conflict fuzzy objective functions is to minimize the cost of the used vehicles, fuel consumption for full loaded vehicles and shortage of products. The second ...
متن کاملA Comparison of NSGA II and MOSA for Solving Multi-depots Time-dependent Vehicle Routing Problem with Heterogeneous Fleet
Time-dependent Vehicle Routing Problem is one of the most applicable but least-studied variants of routing and scheduling problems. In this paper, a novel mathematical formulation of time-dependent vehicle routing problems with heterogeneous fleet, hard time widows and multiple depots, is proposed. To deal with the traffic congestions, we also considered that the vehicles are not forced to come...
متن کاملA new Bi-objective model for a Two-echelon Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem for Perishable Products with the Environmental Factor
In multi-echelon distribution strategy freight is delivered to customers via intermediate depots. Rather than using direct shipments, this strategy is an increasingly popular one in urban logistics. This is primarily to alleviate the environmental (e.g., energy usage and congestion) and social (e.g., traffic-related air pollution, accidents and noise) consequences of logistics operations. This ...

An integrated model considers all parameters and elements of different deficiencies in one problem. This paper presents a new integrated model of a supply chain that simultaneously considers facility location, vehicle routing and inventory control problems as well as their interactions in one problem, called location-routing-inventory (LRI) problem. This model also considers stochastic demands ...
